Last weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting Afi Steaks & Platters located in the heart of Kenya. I arrived around 7 PM with a group of friends, excited to indulge in some mouthwatering steak and share a sumptuous platter. Right from the entrance, the warm, welcoming atmosphere enveloped us, setting the stage for a fantastic dining experience.
We were soon greeted by Paul, our waiter for the evening, whose friendly demeanor instantly made us feel at home. He guided us through the menu, and with his recommendations, we decided to start with the highly-praised Mutura. Let me tell you, it was an absolute standout! The flavors were rich and smoky, a perfect opening to our meal.
As we settled in, we ordered a fantastic platter that included a variety of meats. I can’t express how delighted we were with each bite! The chicken was juicy, the beef was grilled to perfection, and the sides were equally as impressive. The kachumbari served alongside was spiced just right, adding a refreshing zing that complemented the richness of the meats.
The vibe in the restaurant was lively with great music playing in the background, enhancing the fun atmosphere. It was a perfect setting for enjoying good food and catching up with friends. I also appreciated the quick service that was on point throughout our time there. Paul’s attentiveness ensured we never went without drinks, which were also meticulously mixed.
After savoring the main meal, we couldn't resist trying the pork ribs. Although on the pricier side, they were undeniably delicious and worth every penny. Each rib was tender and packed with flavor, making it a memorable addition to our dining experience.
I couldn't leave without mentioning how well-prepared everything was—everything was served hot and fresh, a clear testament to the team's dedication to quality.
